Spain is expected to use stadiums in Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, San Sebastián, Seville, Zaragoza and Las Palmas for the 2030 World Cup, with Valencia and Vigo proposed as replacements for Málaga and A Coruña, which withdrew. The list is not final: FIFA's decision was expected around December 2026, and no match schedule exists. Dates are planned for 8 June to 21 July 2030. We spent 60 days along a route through Spain in 2022, including most of these cities.
Capacities below are as reported by Dezeen and others, and several are targets for stadiums still being built or rebuilt.
| City | Stadium | Reported capacity | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Madrid | Santiago Bernabéu | About 83,000; reported 78,297 in World Cup layout | Rebuilt, complete |
| Madrid | Metropolitano | About 70,000 | Complete |
| Barcelona | Camp Nou | 105,000 planned | Rebuild under way, target 2027 |
| Barcelona | RCDE Stadium | About 40,000 | Complete |
| Bilbao | San Mamés | About 53,000 | Complete |
| San Sebastián | Anoeta | About 40,000 to 42,000 | Complete. Residents asked FIFA to remove the city in 2025 |
| Seville | La Cartuja | About 70,000 | Renovation, completion reported for 2028 |
| Zaragoza | Nueva Romareda | About 43,000 | New, planned to open in 2027 |
| Las Palmas | Gran Canaria Stadium | About 44,000 planned | Renovation under way |
| Valencia | Nou Mestalla | About 70,000 | Proposed replacement, FIFA decision pending |
| Vigo | Balaídos | About 44,000 planned | Proposed replacement, FIFA decision pending |

Many older lists are out of date. Málaga withdrew in July 2025 over the logistics of renovating La Rosaleda. A Coruña reportedly withdrew in March 2026 over costs. Spain's federation then put forward Valencia and Vigo.
Neither replacement is confirmed. Valencia has the stronger reported case, with financing for Nou Mestalla reported as completed and a 2027 opening planned. Vigo's renovation is reported as less settled.
If a page still lists Málaga or A Coruña as host cities, it's relying on the 2024 bid.
• Madrid has two stadiums and is the centre of the high-speed network, which makes it the simplest base until the schedule is out. Our where to stay in Madrid guide compares neighbourhoods.
• Barcelona also has two stadiums, though the Camp Nou rebuild is unfinished.
• Bilbao and San Sebastián are close together on the north coast, and our Basque Country tourist tax guide covers the new stay tax from 2027.
• Seville is the southern option and will be very hot in June and July. It also puts you within reach of Morocco via Tarifa and the ferry to Tangier.
• Las Palmas is in the Canary Islands, so it means flying from the mainland.
Spain's trains are the obvious way between cities. Renfe's AVE competes with Ouigo and Iryo on the main lines, and prices rise sharply close to departure, so book as soon as the schedule allows.

• Which Spanish stadiums make FIFA's final list.
• Which matches each city gets, including the final. Spain's federation president has said it will be in Spain, but FIFA has not decided. Our World Cup 2030 overview covers the contenders.
• Ticket dates and prices. We found nothing official.
The expected list includes the Bernabéu and Metropolitano in Madrid, Camp Nou and RCDE Stadium in Barcelona, San Mamés, Anoeta, La Cartuja, Nueva Romareda and Gran Canaria Stadium. Valencia's Nou Mestalla and Vigo's Balaídos are proposed replacements. FIFA has not finalised the list.
No. Málaga withdrew in July 2025 over the logistics of renovating La Rosaleda.
Reports say A Coruña withdrew in March 2026 over costs.
Spain's federation president has said so, but FIFA has not decided, and Grand Stade Hassan II in Morocco is also a contender.
