The Alhambra General ticket costs €22.27 (≈ $25) when bought online from the Patronato, and it is the one that includes the Nasrid Palaces. Children under 12 are free but still need a zero-cost ticket; reduced admission is €12.73 (≈ $14.2) for EU over-65s, EU Youth Card holders and visitors with a disability of 33% or more. Access to the palaces is on a 30-minute entry window — miss it and you lose the right to enter, with no refund.
There are five options and the names do not explain themselves:
• Alhambra General, €22.27 (≈ $25) — Nasrid Palaces, Alcazaba, Generalife and gardens. The standard choice.
• Alhambra Experiences, €22.27 (≈ $25) — Generalife and Alcazaba by day, Nasrid Palaces on a separate consecutive evening. Often available when the General ticket has sold out, and the practical fallback.
• Nasrid Palaces night visit, €12.73 (≈ $14.2) — palaces only, at night.
• Dobla de Oro General, €30.48 (≈ $34) — the daytime visit plus entry to several monuments in the Albaicín.
• Garden-only tickets — cheapest, and they do not get you into the palaces.
If the Nasrid Palaces are the point of your visit — and they are — check the Experiences ticket before giving up when the General shows as sold out.

Tickets are nominal. Your name is on the ticket and checks at the gate are real. Carry the original passport or national ID matching the booking; a photo on your phone is not reliably accepted.
The 30-minute window is enforced. Your ticket carries a specific slot for the Nasrid Palaces, and arriving late means being refused. Build the rest of the visit around that slot rather than the other way round — the Alcazaba and Generalife can be done before or after.
Buy from the official site. Tickets go on sale through tickets.alhambra-patronato.es and sell out weeks or months ahead in spring and summer. Resellers charge multiples and occasionally sell tickets that fail the name check.
Buying at the box office is slightly cheaper (€21 (≈ $23)) but is a genuine gamble in high season, and the queue can consume a morning.
The Alhambra is a hilltop city, not a building, and it takes 3 to 4 hours without rushing. A sensible order: Nasrid Palaces on your slot, then the Alcazaba ramparts for the view over Granada, then the Generalife gardens at the end, which are uphill and better in the cooler part of the day.
The Generalife is the part people skip when tired, and it is a mistake — the water gardens and the long axial view back at the Alhambra are half the reason the site is what it is.
Light is the other variable. Morning light is best in the Nasrid courtyards; late afternoon is better in the Generalife and from the Alcazaba. If you can choose your slot, choose morning for the palaces.
Granada is hot in summer. Between June and September the site is exposed, water fountains are the only relief, and the sensible visit starts at opening.

We spent four nights in Granada in July 2022 and it was the hottest part of the Spanish trip. The Alhambra was the anchor, but the city earns more than a day: the Albaicín quarter opposite the Alhambra for the sunset view from San Nicolás, the Capilla Real, and the free tapas culture in the centre, where a drink comes with food.
Book the Alhambra first and plan the rest of Granada around it. Everything else in the city can be moved; the palace slot cannot.
€22.27 (≈ $25) for the Alhambra General ticket bought online, which includes the Nasrid Palaces, Alcazaba and Generalife. Reduced admission is €12.73 (≈ $14.2) and under-12s are free with a zero-cost ticket.
Try the Alhambra Experiences ticket at the same price: Generalife and Alcazaba by day with a Nasrid Palaces night visit on a consecutive evening.
Yes. Tickets are nominal and checked at the gate against the original passport or national ID used for the booking.
Three to four hours at a normal pace. The Nasrid Palaces are on a 30-minute entry slot that is strictly enforced.
