About Us

Our Story

We're Evan and Clara, a husband-wife duo with an insatiable wanderlust and a shared passion for discovering the world's hidden corners. As a software engineer and data engineer respectively, we've always been drawn to solving problems and uncovering patterns, but our greatest adventure began when we decided to apply that curiosity to the world itself.

What started as weekend getaways and short vacations quickly evolved into something much bigger. We found ourselves captivated not just by breathtaking landscapes, but by the stories woven into every street corner, the endless new cultures to experience, and the profound realization that the world is simultaneously vast and intimately connected. Together, we've now traveled to almost 40 countries.

In 2022, we finally made the leap: we left our jobs, moved our belongings into a storage unit, and embarked on a journey into the unknown which took us across 20 countries. Armed with our cameras and 2 backpacks each, we set out to document not just the places we visited but to find the roads less traveled.

We got there by train, bus, plane, and boat, piecing together each leg as we went. More often than not, we didn't have a place to stay until the day we arrived. Planning that loosely kept us on the edge of our seats, but it's also how we stumbled onto the places no itinerary could have found for us.

We didn't stage a single shot. No fake candids, no directing strangers out of frame, no waiting for the crowds to clear so it looks like we had the place to ourselves. We just showed up and photographed what was actually there.

This collection represents more than just photographs. It's a visual experience showing the growth, discovery, and beautiful chaos of embracing the unknown. Every image captures a moment where two engineers from Chicago found themselves completely out of their comfort zone, and absolutely loving every minute of it.
