Trains already link Tangier, Rabat, Casablanca, Fes and Marrakech, and ONCF's Al Boraq high-speed line runs Tangier to Casablanca in a little over 2 hours. A new high-speed line from Kenitra to Marrakech is targeted for 2029, which would cut Tangier to Marrakech to about 2 hours 40 minutes. That target depends partly on financing, so don't assume it will be open for the World Cup. Agadir sits beyond the rail plans we found, so it means flying, driving or taking a bus. Our Marrakech to Fes guide covers that route today.
The new line was reported as more than 30% complete in mid-2026.
| Link | Today | Planned |
|---|---|---|
| Tangier to Casablanca | Al Boraq high-speed, a little over 2 hours | Continues on the new line |
| Casablanca to Marrakech | Conventional train | High-speed by the 2029 target |
| Tangier to Marrakech | Reported at more than 7 hours | About 2 hours 40 minutes |
| Fes to Marrakech | Conventional train | About 3 hours 40 minutes, using conventional track as far as Kenitra |
| Agadir | Motorway, buses and flights | Not part of the Kenitra to Marrakech line |

Morocco's transport minister told parliament in 2026 that the line had passed 30% completion, and the target is the end of 2029. A May 2026 report said timing depends partly on external financing, and earlier reporting tied the line to the World Cup directly.
It may open on time. Just don't build a plan that fails if it doesn't. If you're choosing bases, pick two cities on existing track, and check ONCF once a schedule exists.
We also found no published plan for moving fans to Grand Stade Hassan II at Benslimane, so expect that to change as the stadium nears completion.
• Buses: CTM and Supratours cover places without rail, including the Marrakech to Agadir corridor. Check the operators for current times.
• Driving: tolled ADM motorways link Tangier, Rabat, Casablanca, Fes, Marrakech and Agadir. Our driving in Morocco guide covers tolls and rules.
• Flights: useful for Tangier to Agadir, the longest pairing. We found no tournament air schedule yet.
• From Spain: ferries cross the Strait, covered in our Tarifa to Tangier guide. Morocco is one hour behind Spain in summer, so check the kick-off time zone on anything you book across the border.

The tournament falls in June and July. Sources put Marrakech highs at about 38°C, Fes in the low 30s °C, and Agadir and Tangier much cooler on the coast. Figures vary by source, so treat them as rough.
Keep a day between matches in different cities, carry water on long train and bus journeys, and pack for sun. Our Morocco packing list covers what to bring.
That is the plan, with completion targeted for 2029. The line was reported as more than 30% complete in mid-2026, and timing depends partly on financing.
A little over 2 hours on Al Boraq.
The high-speed plans we found stop at Marrakech. Use the motorway, a bus or a flight, and check operators for current services.
