For Muay Thai, stay in Banglamphu, the old-town district around Khao San Road: Rajadamnern Stadium is on Ratchadamnoen Nok Road, on the same side of the old town, and it holds fight nights every day of the week. Lumpinee, the other historic stadium, moved to Ram Inthra Road in north Bangkok in 2014; it is a taxi ride from anywhere central. Muay Thai runs all year, so there are no single event dates and the hotel search above uses your own dates. We spent 10 days in Bangkok across December 2022 and January 2023; the schedules, seat types and directions below come from the stadiums and promoters, not from our visit.
Rajadamnern Stadium (8 Rajadamnern Nok Road, Pom Prap Sattru Phai) lists a show every night on its official schedule:
• Monday, Tuesday and Friday: Rajadamnern Knockout.
• Wednesday: New Power. Thursday: Petchyindee. Sunday: Kiatpetch.
• Saturday: Rajadamnern World Series (RWS), the stadium's flagship night.
Gates open at 6pm for Knockout and RWS (seven bouts of three rounds) and 5pm for the traditional shows from Kiatpetch, Palangmai and Petchyindee (eight to nine bouts, three or five rounds), according to the stadium's ticket page. Check the date you want, since promoters and times can change.
Lumpinee Boxing Stadium is owned and run by the Royal Thai Army and moved from Rama IV Road to No. 6 Ram Inthra Road, Bang Khen, in February 2014. It is now best known as the home of ONE Friday Fights: ONE Championship's events page lists weekly Friday cards at Lumpinee through November 2026 (6, 13 and 20 November), plus ONE Fight Night shows such as ONE Fight Night 49 on 7 November. Tickets for ONE events at Lumpinee are sold through Thai Ticket Major, linked from onefc.com.

Rajadamnern: the stadium's own directions list BTS Ratchathewi or Victory Monument, or MRT Sam Yot, then a taxi; buses 157, 509, 201 and 503; and boats to Talad Bobae or Panfa Leelard piers on the Khlong Saen Saep canal line. From Banglamphu and the Khao San area it is close enough to walk or take a short taxi.
Lumpinee: the stadium is about 5 km south of Don Mueang Airport and roughly 15 km north of Sukhumvit, measured in a straight line on the map. Neither stadium site gives a rail route, so most visitors use a taxi or a ride-hailing app. Our Grab vs Bolt guide covers fares and the meter-refusal problem.
Allow extra time on Friday evenings, when Bangkok traffic is at its worst.
1. Banglamphu and Khao San Road. The nearest district with lots of rooms, from hostels to boutique hotels, plus street food until late. Walk or take a short taxi to Rajadamnern and back after the last bout. The catch: Khao San itself is loud until the small hours, so pick a lane a few streets away. Our where to stay in Bangkok guide covers Banglamphu in detail.
2. Rattanakosin (the old town). The Grand Palace and Wat Pho area, slightly further from the stadium but quieter at night, with smaller hotels in older buildings. The catch: fewer dinner options after the temples close, and a taxi rather than a walk to the stadium.
3. Pratunam and around the Saen Saep canal. The canal boat runs from this side of central Bangkok to Panfa Leelard pier near the stadium, so you skip the road traffic going in. Mid-priced shopping-district hotels. The catch: the canal boats do not run late, so plan on a taxi back after the fights.
4. Sukhumvit. Where most visitors stay, with the widest hotel choice and the BTS. The catch: it is the far side of the city from Rajadamnern, so expect a long taxi ride at rush hour. It is closer to Lumpinee than the old town is, but still a taxi.
5. Chatuchak (for Lumpinee nights). If ONE Friday Fights is the main reason for your trip, the north side of the city cuts the ride to Ram Inthra Road, and it suits a weekend at Chatuchak Market. The catch: little else to do in the evening, and you are far from the old-town sights.

Rajadamnern sells online through its website (with a QR code for entry), through Ticketmelon links on its schedule, and at the stadium ticket office, which opens daily at 3pm. The stadium warns that popular nights such as RWS sell out quickly, so book Saturdays ahead.
Seat types at Rajadamnern, cheapest to most expensive: 3rd Class (unassigned, the highest point, 360-degree view), 2nd Class LEO section (full ring view, with legal public betting), Club Class, Singha Ringside, the VIP Lounge and, on RWS Saturdays only, a 15-guest Superior Panoramic Balcony. Prices vary by tier and fight card; the stadium does not publish a fixed list, so compare on its booking page.
Buy from the official site, Ticketmelon or the box office rather than from touts in the street or on Khao San, where tickets are commonly resold at a mark-up (a general warning, not a stadium statement). Lumpinee's own site offers a 10% discount for online booking.
• The rituals matter. Before each bout fighters perform the wai kru ram muay, a dance paying respect to their teachers. It is part of the sport, not a warm-up to talk over.
• Betting is part of the atmosphere in the 2nd Class section at Rajadamnern, where it is legal. Watch from Club Class or ringside if you would rather be away from it.
• Dress is casual; there is no stadium dress code like a temple's. If you are coming from sightseeing, our temple dress code guide covers the day part.
• Getting home: big nights finish late. Use a ride-hailing app rather than taking an unmetered taxi at the gate. Our Bangkok safety guide covers common scams.
