Where is Euro 2028, and which stadiums are hosting?

By · Published · Last updated

Euro 2028 runs from Friday 9 June to Sunday 9 July 2028 across nine stadiums in England, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland. It opens in Cardiff, and the semi-finals and final are at Wembley. England's host-team group games, if they qualify directly, are one in Manchester and two at Wembley. Group fixtures and matchday details follow the draws, and we found no ticket information yet. Belfast's Casement Park was dropped, so Northern Ireland has no matches.

The nine stadiums

UEFA confirmed the framework in November 2025: 51 matches, 24 teams, 31 days. Capacities below are as listed in current reference sources.

Key dates

• 6 December 2026: qualifying draw in Belfast.

• Friday 9 June 2028: opening match in Cardiff.

• Tuesday 4 and Wednesday 5 July 2028: semi-finals at Wembley.

• Sunday 9 July 2028, 17:00: final at Wembley.

Hosts do not qualify automatically. Each has a reserved group position if it qualifies directly, so Wales only plays the opener if it gets through. The England FA lists kick-offs at 14:00, 17:00 and 20:00.

Planning a trip around England's games

• If you only want one base, London has two stadiums and the most hotels. Our Wembley stay guide covers the area around the stadium.

• If you're following a team, wait for the draw. Group position decides your cities, and most group matches won't involve England.

• If you're coming from abroad, check whether you need a UK ETA. Dublin is outside the UK, so if your trip crosses into Ireland, check the rules for both.

• Don't assume host cities are close. Glasgow, Dublin and Cardiff are all a separate journey from London, and Dublin is a flight or ferry.

Why Belfast isn't hosting

Casement Park was on the original list, but its rebuild was delayed, the budget rose and the UK government confirmed it wouldn't fund it. It was then dropped. Older lists showing 10 stadiums predate that change.

Tickets

We found no official sale dates or prices as of 1 November 2026. UEFA runs ticket sales for its finals, so watch UEFA.com rather than buying from resale sites offering specific matches before the teams and fixtures exist.
