Seasonal travelBath Christmas Market runs Thursday 26 November to Sunday 13 December 2026, according to the organiser. Entry is free. It ends well before Christmas, so a Christmas-week visit will miss it. We stayed in Bath from 21 to 24 November 2023; this page reports the organiser’s 2026 arrangements rather than claiming a first-hand review of this year’s market. Checked 21 October 2026.

The organiser lists a residents’ preview on Wednesday 25 November, 17:00–19:00. That is separate from the public run beginning on 26 November. Use the public dates when booking a visitor trip.
The event is outdoors in the historic city centre. Check the organiser’s current visitor map and accessibility information before arrival, especially if you need a step-free route or somewhere to pause away from the busiest streets.
Our suggested plan is to arrive in the morning, leave bags at your accommodation if staying overnight, and choose one main indoor sight before the market. Keep the late afternoon for stalls and lights, then eat before your return journey. Trying to fit the Roman Baths, the whole city and a long market evening into a short stop leaves little margin.
Book any separate attraction through its own visitor page and check its last admission. The market’s free entry does not include neighbouring attractions. Leave enough time to reach the station without rushing through crowded streets.
For a wider trip, our England route shows how Bath fitted between London and the Cotswolds. Those are our 2023 travel stops, not a proposed 2026 market timetable.
The organiser’s event information directs visitors to rail and bus travel into central Bath. Check a live journey planner for your date and reserve a return journey with enough margin; this page does not promise a train frequency, fare or journey time.
If your dates are flexible, we would choose a weekday and use opening time for shopping, then return later for the lights. That is a crowd-management suggestion, not an attendance forecast. For a weekend trip, choose a few priorities instead of expecting to cover every chalet.
Wear shoes suitable for wet pavements and bring a waterproof outer layer. Make space in your bag for purchases so you can keep your hands free. Agree a meeting point before splitting up.
The public dates, opening hours and free entry are confirmed on the organiser’s site. We have not verified a complete 2026 trader list, entertainment timetable or individual food prices, so none is presented as settled here.
Compare Bath with Prague, Budapest and Germany’s markets in our Christmas markets hub. Bath’s earlier closing date is the main constraint if combining trips.
No. The 2026 market ends on 13 December.
The organiser describes it as a free, open-air event. Other attractions have their own admission arrangements.
In 2026 it closes at 19:00 Monday–Wednesday, 20:00 Thursday–Saturday and 18:00 on Sundays.
Entry rules change, and they depend on your nationality — always confirm the current requirements on the official government site before you book or apply. Only use official government (.gov) portals; ignore look-alike agency sites.
