**The 2027 ICC World Test Championship Final runs from Wednesday 9 to Sunday 13 June 2027 at The Oval in south London, according to the ICC and the ECB, with a 10:30 start. Stay in Vauxhall for the best mix of walkability and hotels, and book a free-cancellation rate now, because the finalists are not yet known.** Tickets were not on sale anywhere we could find when we checked in October 2026. We were in London from 14 to 21 November 2023 and again from 2 to 3 December 2023, outside the cricket season, so the details below come from the ICC, the ECB and the Kia Oval.

## The final: dates, teams and tickets

The ICC and the ECB both give **Wednesday 9 to Sunday 13 June 2027** at The Oval. The ECB's schedule lists a **10:30 start**. It is a single Test match between the top two sides in the World Test Championship, played over up to five days, and tickets are normally sold by the day. If you have not been to a Test, the [Ashes at The Oval guide](https://clevertourists.com/resources/where-to-stay-for-the-ashes-the-oval) explains how the days work.

**Reserve day:** the ICC announcement does not mention one for 2027, and we could not verify one. The 2025 final at Lord's did have a reserve day. If you plan to stay to the end, keep the night of 13 June and Monday 14 June flexible until the ICC confirms.

**The finalists are not yet known.** The ECB's fixture list shows Australia may be involved: the England Lions warm-up against Australia is marked subject to review if Australia reach the final.

**Tickets:** we found none on sale and no prices for any year. Seat Unique lists ticket and package details as to be confirmed, and the Kia Oval's 2027 ballot does not include this match, so entering it will not help you here. The ECB's 2027 ticket page does not list the final. Watch the ICC and Kia Oval sites.

## Getting to The Oval

**Oval station** on the Northern line is about 100 metres from the main entrance. **Kennington** (Northern line) is about 10 minutes on foot, and **Vauxhall** (Victoria line and South Western Railway) is 6 to 10 minutes, depending on which of the club's pages you read. Bus routes 36, 185 and 436 stop outside. There is no match-day parking at or near the ground, and the roads around it close on major match days.

**From Heathrow:** take the Elizabeth line or Piccadilly line into central London, then the Victoria line to Vauxhall or the Northern line to Oval. See our [Heathrow to the city guide](https://clevertourists.com/resources/london-heathrow-to-city-guide). **From Gatwick:** take a train to Victoria, then the Victoria line to Vauxhall.

## Where to stay, ranked by time to the ground

This ranking is our judgement, based on time to the ground. Station walks come from the club. Anything marked roughly is our own estimate, so check it in the TfL Journey Planner against your actual hotel. The [Oval Ashes guide](https://clevertourists.com/resources/where-to-stay-for-the-ashes-the-oval) has more on each area.

**1. Kennington and Oval.** 2 to 10 minutes on foot. **The catch:** few hotels.

**2. Vauxhall.** 6 to 10 minutes on foot, with tube and rail in one place. Our pick for most visitors. **The catch:** a busy road gyratory.

**3. Waterloo and the South Bank.** Roughly 5 minutes by Northern line plus a short walk; take a Morden train or change at Kennington. Best for sights. **The catch:** a popular area in summer.

**4. Victoria and Pimlico.** Roughly 3 to 5 minutes on the Victoria line to Vauxhall, then the walk. Good for the Gatwick train. **The catch:** small rooms are common in Pimlico's converted terraces.

**5. London Bridge and Bank.** Roughly 8 to 10 minutes on the Northern line. Best evenings out, around Borough Market. **The catch:** the City side goes quiet at weekends.

## When to book

We have no sourced hotel rates for the final, so this is about timing. The main unknown is who plays. Demand can jump late, when the finalists are set, particularly if India or another side with a large London following qualifies. That is our judgement and we have no figures for it. A **free-cancellation room now** protects you whichever teams make it.

There is no London clash from the Champions League final, which is in Madrid on 5 June; if you want both, see [where to stay for the final in Madrid](https://clevertourists.com/resources/where-to-stay-for-the-champions-league-final-madrid). The Test at Lord's against Bangladesh is scheduled to end on 1 June, and the Lord's Ashes Test starts on 30 June, so a long London stay can take in more cricket: our [cricket 2027 calendar](https://clevertourists.com/resources/cricket-2027-calendar-where-to-stay) has them in date order. Our guide to the [best time to visit London](https://clevertourists.com/resources/best-time-to-visit-london) covers the weather and crowds.
