**The 2027 DFB-Pokal final is on Saturday 29 May at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, according to the DFB's published round dates. Charlottenburg is the best base, about 13 minutes from Zoo station to the stadium with good hotels around it; Potsdamer Platz is best for the airport.** Tickets go mainly to the finalists' members and season-ticket holders through application and draw, and details depend on who reaches the final. Berlin fills up on final weekend, so book early and with free cancellation. We were in Berlin from 9 to 12 July 2023.

## The final: date, venue and kick-off

The DFB's round dates list **"Finale in Berlin: 29. Mai 2027"**, with the semi-finals on 20 and 21 April. Listings that show 22 May or 28 May are wrong: 22 May is the Bundesliga's last day. The DFB has agreed to keep the final at the Olympiastadion through 2030.

**Kick-off:** the final is usually at 20:00. Berlin.de lists 20:00, Sky says the time is to be announced, and the DFB's dates page gives none, so confirm it.

The Olympiastadion holds 74,475 according to Wikipedia. With the Bundesliga finished on 22 May, the final has the weekend to itself.

## Tickets

The finalists' members and season-ticket holders get the bulk of the tickets, by application and draw. Sale details depend on who qualifies, so they cannot appear before the semi-finals.

**2026 prices, from FC Bayern's list:** Category 1 €195 (≈ $218), Category 2 €150 (≈ $167), Category 3 €80 (≈ $89), Fan €45 (≈ $50), and €10 (≈ $11.2) for deaf, wheelchair and visually impaired fans, with a maximum of 2 per member. VfB Stuttgart was reported as charging €85 (≈ $95) for Category 3, so the sources do not quite match. No 2027 prices are published.

**VIP tickets from the DFB** ran from €850 to €2,000 (≈ $949–2,233) plus VAT and shipping in 2026.

We could not confirm the personalisation rules, so check with the DFB or the finalist before buying from anyone. Use only DFB and finalists' sites.

## Getting to the Olympiastadion

**U2 to Olympia-Stadion.** The East Gate is 500 m from the station and the South Gate 870 m. A DFB sheet from 2018 gives 13 minutes from Zoo, 25 from Potsdamer Platz and 36 from Alexanderplatz. The stadium's own site confirms the line, but treat the timings as approximate.

**S-Bahn to Olympiastadion.** The South Gate is 200 m away. The 2018 sheet gives 14 minutes from Zoo and 26 from Alexanderplatz. **Sources conflict on the lines:** that sheet lists the S9, the stadium's site lists the S3 and S9, and other sites say S5. Follow the stadium's site and check for works, which have interrupted this connection before.

**Your ticket may include travel.** In 2018 a DFB match ticket carried VBB validity. Confirm that on the 2027 ticket before relying on it.

**From BER airport,** the FEX runs up to four times an hour, taking 19 minutes to Potsdamer Platz and 23 to Hauptbahnhof, according to the airport. Then use the U2 or S-Bahn. Our [Berlin airport guide](https://clevertourists.com/resources/berlin-airport-to-city-guide) has the details.

## Where to stay, ranked by time to the stadium

This order is our own judgement, based on time to the stadium. Train times are from the 2018 DFB sheet unless marked roughly, so check a journey planner.

**1. Westend and Neu-Westend.** Roughly 5 to 10 minutes on the U2 or on foot. **The catch:** suburban, with limited evening life.

**2. Charlottenburg (Zoo, Kurfürstendamm).** 13 to 14 minutes by train, with good hotels in classic west Berlin. **The catch:** busy trains carrying both sets of fans.

**3. Potsdamer Platz.** 25 minutes on the U2, and 19 minutes from BER by FEX, the best airport link here. **The catch:** it can feel corporate.

**4. Mitte (Alexanderplatz) and Friedrichshain.** 26 minutes by S-Bahn or 36 by U2 from Alexanderplatz, and Friedrichshain is further east, so allow longer. The best nightlife on this list. **The catch:** a late return with the crowds.

## Match-day catches

• **Late finish.** A 20:00 kick-off with extra time and penalties ends past 23:00. Allow time for crowds at the U-Bahn.

• **Works.** Check for S-Bahn works on this line before you travel.

• **City tax.** Berlin charges one on hotel stays; see our [Berlin city tax guide](https://clevertourists.com/resources/berlin-city-tax-guide).

• **Same stadium, different match.** Hertha play their 2. Bundesliga matches at the Olympiastadion. A top-flight match in Berlin means Union.

• **A week of finals.** The [Europa League final](https://clevertourists.com/resources/where-to-stay-for-the-europa-league-final-frankfurt) is in Frankfurt on 26 May, and our [2027 football calendar](https://clevertourists.com/resources/football-matches-2027-calendar-where-to-stay) lists the rest.
