**Tokyo has two tour events at Ariake in autumn 2027: the men's Japan Open from 29 September to 5 October, per the ATP calendar, and the women's Toray Pan Pacific Open in the week of 25 October, per the WTA calendar, which gives the week only. Stay in Ariake to walk to the courts, or around Shimbashi and Ginza for better food on a direct line.** The hotel search above opens on the Japan Open's closing stretch, Saturday 2 to Wednesday 6 October 2027; we have not set Pan Pacific nights because its exact days are unpublished. We were in Tokyo from 18 to 22 March 2023 and from 15 to 20 April 2023. That record shows the city and the dates, so the tournament detail below comes from the sources named.

## The two tournaments: dates and status

**Kinoshita Group Japan Open (ATP 500, hard).** The ATP calendar (version of 14 January 2026) gives 29 September to 5 October 2027, a Wednesday start and Tuesday final. The tournament has not published this itself, so check japanopentennis.com before you book flights. In 2026 it ran 30 September to 6 October.

**Toray Pan Pacific Open (WTA 500, outdoor hard).** The WTA calendar lists the **week of 25 October 2027**. We could not find exact days. In 2026 it ran 26 October to 1 November. Qualifying is likely the weekend before, but that is an assumption until the schedule appears.

Both are played at the Ariake Colosseum and Ariake Tennis Forest Park at 2-2-22 Ariake. The Colosseum has a retractable roof, which helps if a typhoon or rain arrives in late September or October.

## Tickets: the 2026 pattern

Neither event had published 2027 sales when we checked, so these are last year's arrangements.

**Japan Open.** General sales ran through eplus in 2026: hospitality from 20 June, single sessions from 27 June and a second phase from 1 August. The price table we found was garbled and reseller figures are unreliable, so check japanopentennis.com and eplus. The site does not say whether foreign cards work; look at the international version of eplus. Sales are mostly in Japanese, so sort seats before you arrive.

**Pan Pacific Open.** In 2026 the presale ran on Chike Pia until 30 August and general sale began at 10:00 on 31 August on Chike Pia, Lawson and Rakuten Ticket. The page does not cover overseas buyers; the contact listed is information3@pia.co.jp. Children of elementary-school age and younger enter free in unreserved seats, subject to capacity.

| Seat | 2026 price per day |
| --- | --- |
| SS | ¥7,500 to ¥18,000 (≈ $48–114) |
| Court End | ¥12,000 to ¥22,000 (≈ $76–140) |
| Court Side Back | ¥13,000 to ¥25,000 (≈ $83–159) |
| Court Side Front | ¥16,000 to ¥34,000 (≈ $102–216) |
| Superior | ¥20,000 to ¥38,500 (≈ $127–244) |
| Royal Box | ¥21,000 to ¥40,000 (≈ $133–254) |
| Qualifying | ¥1,000 (≈ $6.3) |

## Getting to Ariake

Per the Pan Pacific site, the venue is about 8 minutes on foot from **Ariake** or **Ariake Tennis no Mori** on the Yurikamome, or from **Kokusai-Tenjijo** on the Rinkai Line.

• **From Haneda:** roughly 35 to 45 minutes by monorail to Tennozu Isle, then the Rinkai Line.

• **From Narita:** roughly 90 to 120 minutes by limousine bus, or Skyliner plus the Rinkai Line.

Both airport times are our estimates, so check a journey planner. Our [Haneda vs Narita guide](https://clevertourists.com/resources/tokyo-haneda-vs-narita-airport-transit-guide) compares the airports, and the [Suica and Pasmo guide](https://clevertourists.com/resources/japan-suica-pasmo-ic-card-tourist-guide-transit-tips) covers fares.

## Where to stay, ranked by travel time to Ariake

This works for both tournaments. The ranking is our judgement, based on time to the venue. All five times are our own estimates, so check them in a journey planner, especially last trains after evening sessions.

**1. Ariake (roughly 5 to 10 minute walk).** Tower hotels near the venue. **The catch:** quiet, with a convention-district feel.

**2. Odaiba and Toyosu (roughly 10 to 15 minutes).** Waterfront, with the Yurikamome direct. **The catch:** the Yurikamome is slow and fills after sessions.

**3. Osaki and Oimachi (roughly 15 to 20 minutes on the Rinkai Line).** JR links, and usually cheaper. **The catch:** plain areas.

**4. Shimbashi and Ginza (roughly 25 to 30 minutes).** Food, JR lines and the Yurikamome terminus. **The catch:** pricier.

**5. Shibuya and Shinjuku (roughly 30 to 40 minutes on Rinkai through-trains).** The classic first-trip base. **The catch:** last connections after night sessions.

We found no sourced hotel prices. Autumn is a busy season in Tokyo, so we would book by summer. ## Session times and timing

• **Japan Open sessions:** two a day in 2026, at 11am and 4pm, with the final not before 6pm, per the ATP. The 2027 times are unpublished.

• **Pan Pacific sessions:** one 2026 Saturday had gates at 11:00 and play at 12:00, per the tournament site.

• **Weather:** late September to early October can bring typhoons, and late October is usually mild. Our [Japan in October guide](https://clevertourists.com/resources/japan-in-october-weather-what-to-do) has more.

• **Osaka first:** the WTA event in Osaka is on 18 to 24 October 2027, official on wtatennis.com, the week before the Pan Pacific. We were in Osaka from 8 to 11 April 2023.
