**Krka National Park** costs **€40 (≈ $45) for an adult** from 1 June to 30 September, dropping to **€30 (≈ $33) if you enter after 15:00**. In April, May and October the adult ticket is **€20 (≈ $22)**, and from November to March it is **€7 (≈ $7.8)**. Children aged 7 to 18 and students pay €15 (≈ $16.7) in season (€11.25 (≈ $12.5) after 15:00), €12 (≈ $13.4) in the shoulder months and €4 (≈ $4.5) in winter. Under-7s are free. The park boat between **Skradin** and the **Skradinski Buk** waterfall is included in the ticket and runs from 1 April to 31 October.

## Prices by season, and the 3pm discount

Krka is one of the few major European attractions that prices by time of day as well as season:

• **1 June to 30 September:** adult €40 (≈ $45), reduced to €30 (≈ $33) after 15:00. Children 7-18 and students €15 (≈ $16.7), or €11.25 (≈ $12.5) after 15:00.

• **April, May, October:** adult €20 (≈ $22), children and students €12 (≈ $13.4).

• **November to March:** adult €7 (≈ $7.8), children and students €4 (≈ $4.5).

• **Under 7:** free all year.

The late-afternoon discount is real and worth planning around. Arriving at 15:00 gives you several hours of light in summer, thinner crowds, and a much lower price. The trade-off is that the last boat back from the falls leaves in the late afternoon, so check the return times at the pier before you commit.

## Getting there via Skradin

Šibenik is the closest coastal city, about **20 to 25 minutes** from Skradin by road. We stayed two nights in Šibenik in August 2023 and used it for exactly this.

**Independently:** take a local bus or drive to **Skradin**, buy your park ticket at the office in the village, then board the park boat from the pier straight to the falls. The boat ride through the canyon is part of the experience rather than just transport.

**Walking or cycling:** a **3.5 km** path follows the river from Skradin to Skradinski Buk. In winter, when the boat does not run, this is the only way in on foot.

**Organised boat trips from Šibenik:** speedboat excursions leave the Šibenik waterfront and bundle the canyon cruise with park entry, typically **€85 to €90 (≈ $95–100)+ per person**. Convenient, and considerably more than doing it yourself.

Park at Skradin rather than driving to the Lozovac entrance if you want the boat. Lozovac is the other main entrance, with a shuttle bus down to the falls.

## Swimming: check before you plan on it

Swimming at Skradinski Buk has been restricted for years and the rules have tightened, with swimming banned in the main waterfall pools to protect the tufa formations and water quality. Do not build a day around swimming here on the strength of older blog posts.

What you can do: walk the boardwalk circuit around the falls, which is a genuinely well-built route over and through the water, and take the boat. The boardwalk loop takes about an hour at a gentle pace.

If swimming in waterfalls is the goal, **Krka's upper reaches** and other Croatian parks have different rules; ask at the ticket office what is currently permitted on the day you visit rather than assuming.

## How long to allow, and when to go

Half a day is right: boat in, boardwalk loop, boat out. Add the **Visovac island monastery** or the **Roški slap** section if you have a full day, both reachable by boat from the Skradinski Buk area in season.

July and August are the busiest weeks of the year, and the boardwalk around the main falls becomes a single-file queue. May, June and September give you the same water with far fewer people, at half the price.

Wear shoes with grip — the boardwalk is wet almost everywhere — and bring water. There are cafés at the falls but the prices reflect the location.
