**The 2030 FIFA World Cup is planned for 8 June to 21 July 2030. Morocco, Spain and Portugal are the main hosts, and Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay each stage one centenary match. FIFA confirmed the hosts on 11 December 2024.** The stadium list, the final venue, the match schedule and ticket sales were not settled when we checked in late October 2026, so anyone quoting those as fact is guessing. This page separates what is known from what is not, and we will update it as FIFA publishes.

## What is confirmed, and what isn't

The dates and hosts come up consistently across reporting. Most of the rest is still a candidate list.

## Where the matches are expected

• **Morocco:** six cities: Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Marrakech, Fes and Agadir. See our [Morocco host city guide](https://clevertourists.com/resources/fifa-world-cup-2030-morocco-host-cities-stadiums-guide).

• **Spain:** the largest share of venues. The original list had 11 stadiums, but Málaga and A Coruña have since withdrawn. See our [Spain host city guide](https://clevertourists.com/resources/fifa-world-cup-2030-spain-host-cities-stadiums-guide).

• **Portugal:** three stadiums are listed: Estádio da Luz and Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon, and Estádio do Dragão in Porto.

• **South America:** Estadio Centenario in Montevideo is expected to stage the opening match, marking 100 years since the first World Cup in 1930. Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires is expected to follow. The new stadium intended for Asunción has slipped, with Dezeen reporting completion moving from 2027 to 2029, so that venue is listed as pending.

## Where will the final be?

Nobody outside FIFA can answer this yet. Three stadiums lead the reporting, and a fourth wants in.

• **Santiago Bernabéu, Madrid.** The existing option, but Stadium DB reports a World Cup capacity of 78,297 against FIFA's 80,000 minimum for a final, and says Real Madrid is considering about 1,700 more seats.

• **Camp Nou, Barcelona.** Being rebuilt to a reported 105,000.

• **Grand Stade Hassan II, near Casablanca.** New, planned at about 115,000, and under construction.

• **Estádio da Luz, Lisbon.** Benfica plans an expansion and an application, according to Stadium DB, which rates it a long shot.

Spain's federation president said in January 2026 that the final would be in Spain, and Marca has reported the Bernabéu is close to being chosen. Neither is a FIFA decision. Stadium DB notes that the 2026 final's city was announced about two years out, which would point to around 2028, but that is an inference, not a published date.

## What to do now if you want to go

• **Don't buy tickets from anyone yet.** We found no official sale, so resale sites and packages offering specific 2030 matches can't be selling a confirmed seat. FIFA's own site is the place to watch.

• **Don't book non-refundable anything.** Without a schedule you can't know which city you need on which date.

• **Do pick a base country.** Morocco and Spain sit across a short ferry crossing, so one trip could cover both. Our [Tarifa to Tangier ferry guide](https://clevertourists.com/resources/tarifa-to-tangier-ferry-day-trip-guide) covers that route.

• **Do check your passport and entry rules early.** Our [Morocco visa guide](https://clevertourists.com/resources/do-i-need-a-visa-to-visit-morocco) and [Spain visa guide](https://clevertourists.com/resources/do-i-need-a-visa-to-visit-spain) cover current rules, which may change before 2030.
